George Privacy Policy

In short

George collects only what it needs to log your workouts and coach you.

• We never sell your data, never share it for advertising and use no advertising tracking.
• Your messages, voice notes and photos to the coach are processed by artificial intelligence providers, including OpenAI, only to generate the coach's replies.
• You can delete your account and all your data at any time, directly in the app.

Who is responsible

This policy applies to the mobile app “George: AI Gym Coach & Log” (“George”), published under the Calerys brand. The controller of your personal data is:

Data we collect

Depending on how you use George, we process the following data:

• Account data: your email address and your name, either provided by Google or Apple when you sign in with them, or entered by you.
• Workouts: the exercises, sets, loads, repetitions and durations you log, and the programs built for you.
• Profile and self-reported information: the body measurements you enter, your sex, training level, goal, weekly training frequency, available equipment and any physical limitations you report.
• Messages to the coach: the text messages you send to the AI coach and its replies.
• Voice recordings: the audio messages you send to the coach. They are transcribed on our servers so that the coach can answer them.
• Photos: the photos you choose to send to the coach.
• Purchase identifiers: if paid subscriptions are offered, the transaction identifiers and subscription status provided by the App Store or Google Play. We never receive your payment card details.
• Calerys link (optional): if you link an existing Calerys account, the verified phone number of that account.

Physical limitations you report may reveal information about your health. Sharing them is up to you, and we use them only to adapt your training.

Signing in and linking Calerys

You can sign in with Google, with Apple, or with a one-time code sent to your email address. When you use Google or Apple, we receive only the identity information needed to create your account: an account identifier, your email address and, where provided, your name. If you use Apple's “Hide My Email” option, we receive a relay address.

You can link George to an existing Calerys account by verifying its phone number. Once the accounts are linked, Ava, the Calerys nutrition coach, can read your workouts so that its nutrition advice takes your training into account. Linking is optional.

Why we use your data

We use your data only to:

• provide George: create and secure your account, sign you in, and save and sync your workouts, programs and progress;
• run the AI coach: answer your messages, voice notes and photos, and adapt your program to your profile, goal, equipment and limitations;
• send you the emails the service needs, such as sign-in codes;
• manage purchases made through the App Store or Google Play, if subscriptions are offered;
• comply with our legal obligations and keep the service secure.

Legal bases

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

• the performance of our contract with you, to provide the app and the coach;
• your consent, for optional information such as physical limitations, photos and the link to a Calerys account; you can withdraw it at any time;
• our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and working properly;
• compliance with our legal obligations, for example accounting obligations related to purchases.

The AI coach

The coach's replies are generated by artificial intelligence. To produce them, what you send to the coach (messages, transcripts of voice notes, photos) and the context it needs to answer (your profile and training history) are sent to artificial intelligence providers, including OpenAI, which also transcribe audio and analyse images.

These providers process the data on our behalf and under contract, only to provide their service to us.

AI can make mistakes. Do not send the coach information you do not want to share, and check its advice before acting on it.

Who we share data with

We share your data only with the service providers we need to run George, each limited to its task:

• artificial intelligence providers, including OpenAI: processing messages, transcribing audio and analysing images for the coach;
• hosting providers: hosting our servers and databases;
• Resend: sending emails such as sign-in codes;
• Apple and Google: signing in with Apple or Google, distributing the app and, if subscriptions are offered, handling payment through the App Store or Google Play, under their own privacy policies.

We may also disclose data when the law or a competent authority requires it. Apart from these cases, we do not disclose your data to anyone.

No advertising

George contains no advertising. We do not sell your personal data, we do not share it with anyone for advertising purposes, and we use no advertising tracking, no advertising identifiers and no data brokers.

We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States. In that case, we make sure the transfer is covered by the safeguards required by Swiss and European law, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time: all your data is then deleted completely and permanently, with no additional retention period.

Security

Your data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access to it is limited to what is necessary to run the service. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.

Your rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the GDPR, you have the right to:

• access the data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data erased;
• receive your data in a structured, commonly used format (portability);
• object to certain processing, and withdraw your consent at any time.

To exercise these rights, write to timitten@live.fr from the email address of your account. We may ask you to confirm your identity.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, https://www.edoeb.admin.ch) or with the data protection authority of your country.

Minimum age

George is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a person under 16 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example when George gains new features. The effective date at the top of this page shows the current version. We will announce significant changes in the app or by email.
